Meditation is a time honoured way for an individual to attain deep peace, which is attained when the mind is silent or focused on one simple thing in the present moment.


It is a practice of stilling first the body and then the "butterfly" or "monkey" brain by placing attention on a an anchor. That can be various things from staring at a candle or being with your breath.
